Do I HAVE to have a filter?

Oh yea. Mine is like glued or something and I think most of it's support is the black lid but sounds like yours is fine

Well I'm thinking I'll get the clip on led. But I don't need a light while I cycle so I'm not in a hurry for it.
Got a bag of black diamond sand the other day FINALLY got it rinsed and put in today

That's kool I got black sand in my freshwater tank really makes everything pop
