emerald crab?
Hello All,
I had a question regarding green bubble algae which has started to show up in my tank. From what I have read the best way to go is to cut back on light and food, scrub the live rock and hope for the best. However I was talking to a friend of mine who suggested adding an emerald crab as they eat the bubble algae, I would rather do this to avoid stressing out my polyps. Does anyone have any experience with these? I have a small hi fin red banded goby in there already and I wouldn't want him to end up as a snack. Thanks for the help. |

You are correct in that the best way to get rid of bubble algae is to cut back on lights, feeding and manually remove as much as you can from the tank. I have yet to observe an emerald crab that will actually eat bubble algae. You can give it a try but chances of the crab ridding the tank of BA are very low. Good husbandry is your best bet.
