I looked up the tank and i dont see much you could do wirh it on. If you are willing to take the whole hood off and add a clamp on light, that may be a resolution. I think you would be okay with 50 watts but I'm not sure. If you could give me the dimensions of the tank it would be great.

Just a thought, you can get bright led light that are easily installed, and sold for aquariums with them added in for more brightness could that work? Thanks for looking up my tank details will measure up and get back to you

Yes but they are pretty expensive. Do you have knowledge in making them? If you can solder and understand electricity and the way they work then you could do that. I do not know much about them though.

My tropical aquarium has 60 bright LED's White and 60 in blue, on a strip, surprised at how bright they are, and half the price of buying a new light unit for the tank, so maybe I will add something like this in as extra to give more light, hopefully then the corals will be ok.
Thanks for advice

Hi again, just a quick update by the way to say my corals are doing really well and spreadining, so must have the right light conditions now with a tube of LED's to supplement the lighting of the tank

That's great! I would love to see it, do you have a thread for it or could you possibly take a picture? Btw, congratulations!
