was the tank you got from the LFS new? maybe if it was used someone had used copper in it or bleach to clean it before trading it in. just a thought.

Did more water changes and added a "bad" crab from my home tank so we'll see. Doing one more 5 gallon change then gonna put in a Damsel and see what happens.

I think it could be the acclimation. What is your salinity and what is the LFS running. If there is a large difference doing the method you say IMO could be the cause. How long was the new 5 gal of water mixed before you added the fish.
If everything else is ok, its been my experience that the acclimation process would be the cause. Especially with such quick deaths.

We'll see what happens..
the SG is around the same...
the new water was mixed for like 3 days...
I did another 2.5 gallon change last night and a 2.5 this morning...
tomorrow i am adding 2 damsels..
