Is this a feather duster?

The title says it all. Anybody know what this is? It seems to be growing off of or from under the blue mushroom.

No it's not a worm. It's attached to the rock.

Best I could do at the time, without all of my gear. I used my phone with the HD option. I haven't seen it since, but that's a fairly good representation of what I have. Think of a Peacock showing it's feathers, that's what it looks like.
