So here goes, my dorm pico experiment. Set everything up last night when i got here. The frags traveled 6 hours in a bucket from chicago to cincinnati so some of them are still angry.

25W Heater
JBJ 70W Viper HQI

Frags: (1/5/09)
Green Bali Slimer Acro
Ziggy's Teal Stag
Green Stylopora
Yellow/Blue-grey Zoanthids (Have to find real name)
Purple Chalice
Misc green Acro
Green/purple/gold Zoanthids
Blowpop Zoanthids
Eagle Eye Zoanthids
Some Birdsnest (Have to find real name)
Zoey Zoanthids
Orange Digita
*Authentic* Purple Hornets Zoanthids

I have 6 more frags that i have to pick up from a guy local to cincinnati hopefully tomorrow.

And now some Pics!

FTS

Ziggy's Teal Stag

Green Bali Slimer

Misc Birdsnest (used to have like a green shine to it, hopefully it will come back when its not angry)

Green Stylo

Zoey's Zoanthids

Green/Purple/Gold Zoanthids

Eagle Eye Zoanthids

Coral placements and aquascaping isnt final so let me know what you think! All comments and suggestions are welcome!

Did you just buy the 3 Gallon JBJ tank and are still using all that stuff? I was thinking about buying it instead of some other tank since it comes with everything.

My parents take care of it. My mom is huge into saltwater as well, at home we have 2 90 gallons, a 55, 30, 12 and a 3. And my mom has a 29 in her classroom.

With everything it comes with you would be fine growing some soft corals like zoanthids and mushrooms. I was interested in doing some more intense things like the acros and stuff so i went for the upgrades.

Well say I wanted to get more things then just soft corals and such, would you suggest getting the 3 Gallon JBJ then getting the upgrades, or buying a 2.5 Gallon tank and just gettin the equipment from there.

i want to do some LR and cool stuff.

That really depends on your budget and stuff, you would be fine with the pico kit then you could upgrade as you wanted. Most people upgrade the lighting to the Current USA Dual Power Compacts and that will allow you to do almost all mid to lower range light corals. The viper is at like the extreme end of the scale.
