I've mentioned this in a thread before, but only as a hypothetical question. Now that I have a protein skimmer, my glass lid won't fit! What do I do?

My light cannot be used over open water and I have shrimp that will jump.

There's quite a few different methods for a diy lid. You can get a frame for making a window screen and use deer netting in it.

It looks like your lid is two pieces of glass with the plasic hinge. If so what I did was slide the back piece of glass out and get plexi the same thickness then cut the plexi to fit around your skimmer. I used a rotozip tool to cut it it took me a couple times to get perfect but plexi glass is pretty cheap.
