I got it today But even in the shop it didn't have the bristle things (sorry forgot the name) could it be a variation???

It probably needs some time. The only thing that would concern me is that it looked like that prior t the purchase. I hope it's just something minor. Usually corals I by in the store look amazing!

I get them home, they close up and after a few hours or sometimes even a week it looks as it did in the store.

Oh yeah forgot to add that they just had the delivery that day I didn't think of that so it could have been from that delivery

It could be shedding as well, especially with adjusting to a new tank. It takes time.

I don't have a toadstool, I have a sinularia leather, but mine was closed up/shrunken down when I first placed it in the tank.

And it looks shiny/waxy when it sheds

Leathers are moody/odd corals I love them though. I actually just ordered a toadstool that I'm expecting end of next week.

RESULT the coral is starting to come out this morning! I'm so happy, it must have been the new shipment they got in that day,how much would you say it's worth?

Thank you, seeing as this is the first reef I have ever attempted so I'm pleased with myself

The tank is perfect all water parameters are perfect and the corals are fine. Fish are doing okay except for the fire fish who died but got him out and there hasn't been any mini cycles so its ok
