Powerhead and filter????

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Both you want to shoot for your total tank volume turning over about 20-30 times per hour for fowlr and 30-50 for a reef depending on what kinds of corals.

There is a difference between powerheads and filters.
Powerheads move water and get oxygen into the water column.
Filters are a method of filtration to remove unwanteds from the water column, from solids like uneaten food and poop to nitrates/phosphates.

So both any cheap ideas???

I'm sure everyone will agree from past exp. that cheap is not the way to go... And also almost nothing in the saltwater world is cheap anyway... Take it slow and buy the right stuff don't cut corners, it will only cause headaches later!
