i was just wondering is it dumb to have a QT tank for a 10 gallon tank? i was thinking bout maybe setting up one maybe like a 5 gallon not sure tho. if its smart to have a QT where do i start? wat do i need?

I dont see a QT as a bad idea at all no matter what size the tank. The idea is to observe and treat before it gets to your display tank.

It's never a bad idea as melosu said. What you need is essentially the same as your DT. A cycled and stable environment for the fish to chill out after it journey and it's a placefor you to watch it. A 5G-7G would be good. Let it cycle with a little bit of LR and then have it ready. Don't sucumb to the temptation of turning it into a new tank though! :D
