Salinity

So I have noticed that my 16 gallon innovative marine tank with the innovative marine hydrofoil that is connected to a 5 gallon Catalina island jug with a salinity of 1.26. Anyways my tank always is above 1.30 when I get home from work. Any reason why this is occurring. My ato water is stagnate, is it possible the lower portion of the water has a higher salinity

Are you saying your ATO has a salinity of 1.026? ATO water should be fresh RO/DI water, NO SALT.

Ya I just read an article on that, so now I really feel like a noob, I will put so R/O in it when I get home and do some water changes to slowly get the salinity down.
