I would not I have seen them in smaller tanks but I really would not recommend it . They can be agressive esp in a small tank ..They can nip at snails and it is a toss up as to wether or not they will nip at shrimp

I have one in my 12gal nanocube along with a skunk clown and a cleaner shrimp. No issues and it has been a couple of years now.

if its by itself, only because it needs a lot of simming room, these fish are very active... i wouldnt say so much aggressive but they do need a decent amount of swimming room
