Hello,

Does anybody know how much flow will go through a 1" bulkhead fitting via gravity. I am trying to calculate the flow for a refugium but cannot find that info.

Thanks

For a bulkhead, 600gph sounds reasonable. For a siphon, its a bit less (until the pressure on the tank side increases). My 55g has a 1.25" overflow.

Don't know if this will help, but here's what Oceanic tells me about flow rate for my 72 gallon bowfront, which I believe has a 1" bulkhead:

"Pumps used in that system typically are 550- 800 gph. You could even run a pump rated a nine hundred something gallons per hour and be fine. The drain is rated up to (safely) 1100 gph."
