125 Reef setup

So today me and my friend started setting up our 125 reef tank. This is both of ours fist marine tank. I read a couple books on reef aquariums so I know a little.

We filled the tank got our pumps working but we still don't completely know what we are doing with our sump (and could use advice). The sump is a 40 gallon breeder not sure if that is helpful information. Anything I'm failing to tell you just let me know. As we are both new the salt water game we definitely needed help.
I'm not completely sure what questions I should ask.

One question I do have is we have a 400 watt heater in the sump will that heat it up or should I move it to the main tank?

Any other advice will help

Thanks so much and sorry for our incompetence

-wil

Things look good. The heater should be ok.
Some advice, I'd give yourself some room to get behind the tank incase you need to before you fill it up.
