I never did over the back but when I did the 54.99$ valve the one above I never had problems even when the power went out during hurricane Irene it still didn't flood

OK so I made a final order for the sump. I want to di it right. I ordered a George Fischer Y check valve for $40 bucks off eBayand a bit and bulkhead for my return that's 3/4". I'm gonna do it like on that video on bulkreefsupply.

Yep. Nervous about drilling butvif u can drill one then two more should be OK. Just playing the waiting game now untilled I get everything here.

Thanks ill need it. What kind of hose or flex pipe is best for the pump return? I would assume clear so I can see ant blockage but then again if I go black no light will shine in the tube. That would keep algae from growing in there right? Also I was looking in Lowes and the sizes of hosing is oblong. Like 3/4 X 1" diameter. What's up with that?

Don't know but I'd go with PVC unless no lights would get to the see through flex hose then flex hose is better but algae can grow If light gets in there (by light I mean like a lot) if its very little almost dark then get the see through

Well its gonna have my fuge light shinning on it so Ill probably go with the black hose or maybe the PVC. Just gotta find the right fitting for the PVC to plump to my pump. I'm thinking maybe next weekend I will drill the tank and start plumbing if everything comes in. Only thing left for me to get is an overflow box. I'm thinking of making one
