How often do you change youre water? Everyone's been telling me I need a sump and protein skimmer if i want to do a reef tank in my 30 gal

i don't have a sump and mine is doing just fine. and i made my own protein skimmer. ill post the link to the video i got the design from.

you do not need a sump or skimmer but they will greatly help. If anything I would get a skimmer, will really help keep nitrates long term.

i do a 5 gallon water change once a week.
