In my current setup I have bio-balls in my first section of my sump then I have my skimmer and finally my return pump. I found a little 5 gallon eclipse laying around in my garage and I was wondering it it would be possible to attach that to my existing sump and use it as a refugium with some chaeto? My tank size is 75 gallons.

I was thinking of maybe using a little powerhead to get the water to the 5 gallon fuge and then some sort of u-tube to return it to the original sump. Does that sound possible?

When you start moving water between tanks it can get hairy. Display down to one then another. How big is the area your bioballs in? You might want to remove them at some point because they will be nitrate factories. Because they will begin to do their jobs too well.
