55 gallon aquarium set up questions

i decided to get a 55g tank instead
i know it's on the small side for a tang but im getting tangs anyway (small ones)
if i get a kole tang
what other tangs can i get.

None. You can barely scrape by with a Kole tang. I wouldn't add any other tangs.

Why don't you just go with a 75g? A Kole will be much more happier in that.

I SERIOUSLY wouldnt put a kole in ANYTHING less than a 75g and 75g is the SMALLEST for tangs. I would just get the 75 and give them a better home.

removing coraline alge

i am buying a 55 g from a friend but it is full of coraline. How do i get rid of it,
will a clean up crew work, or do i need to do something mechinaclly?

Coraline is VERY GOOD algae. No CUC will eat it. You want coraline!!!

That is debatable...... Lol you need to get a razor to scrape it off which is a pain.

If the tank is empty muratic acid will remove coraline fast. if it is stocked a razor blade for the glass and a urchin for the rocks.

I have scratched glass with both...... Don't let them get bent and use the thin square razor blades not the thick angle ones.

honestly I have only scratched the glass when i was in a hurry and bent the blade. Having a clownfish attacking your hand while scraping tends to startle you. stay away from the silicone. And i do not know of anyway to prevent growth. besides maybe using a floating algea magnet cleaner.The paper towel confuses me/ we are talking about the inside of the aquarium correct?

yes... forget the towel, what angle do i hold the blade so i dont scratch the glass
