I wouldn't do that until the bulbs needed to be changed. For what I'm going to start with, I think these will be just fine.

those are some great shots! i love the colors your lighting gives! what are you running now? it looks somewhat interesting from the first pic how you have it arranged

lol thanks man but its just thrown up there, right side is a 10 gallon hood with 2 50/50 bulbs, left side is a 20 tall strip with a 10k in it. I'm in the process of getting a 48" current usa nova extreme pro (6 bulb). What do you guys think of the rock work, think it looks ok for coral placement?

personally i would add more, but i definitely like the structure.

and thats amazing color from such weak lights!

Yea, I think I'm gonna add some more rock in the back corners. I also put some eggcrate on top today. Cutting it was a PITA though, still have one side to go. Here ya go...

i like the rock work. btw, those are commonly called "Q-tip sponges". they are cool, and the sign of a healthy tank.

Thanks man, I feel like I need a little more rock int the corners. Im not gonna mess with the arch though. Oh and still working on the light lol. How do you think a bullet goby would be with my current livestock? cause one is on the way :)

Eggcrate "cuts" so much easier if you use pliers, just grip then twist. Just make sure you're in the garage or smaller area, those pieces can sometimes snap far.

Yea, it would have been pretty easy to cut if I had some tools. I have only owned my house for a few months now and all the tools I have bought so far are for my car.

those clippers can be purchased at pretty much any beauty supply store, pharmacy, walmart....look where the nail clippers are.

My bullet goby came in today and he's already working hard on the sand.

Had some major expenses come up on my other hobby (2003 SVT cobra) so I have been putting off the light. But I found a 4 bulb Current USA Nova Extreme on craigslist for $120. I decided with the corals that I want to do this is a no-brainer. Picking it up tomorrow along with some FREE frags

Just so you know it happened. New additions...
