Abalone

Bought 1 today. Thought it would make a nice addition to my corals tank. 30 Gal. Deep Blue. I like critters that r a little unusual and he fits right in. I have an LFS and salesperson who is very knowledgeable about SW species and also familiar with my setup. He gave me a run down on this mollusk but I'm also interested in what AA members might have to say about keeping this guy happy. Any info would be appreciated

No picture. Sorry. He's of a tropical species that doesn't get bigger than about 3". When I turned him loose in my tank he went straight for the LR. Blends in so well that I can't find him now. He's about an 11/2" right now. They hide during the day and forage on algae and diatoms at night. Nice addition to any CUC from what I gather. Supposedly eat a lot. Kinda cool when I first saw it but now he's just a part of the aqua scape.

All I know about them is that some people eat them and their shells look nice polished up. I have a pink abalone shell that is good sizes from new Zealand on my last trip there. Normally only ever see the blue so I snagged it from the gift shop
