Acrylic question...

How difficult is acrylic to cut. I found a 6 month used 36" Coralife PC striplight for $100 and bought it. However, it is about a 1/2" too long to fit under my hood. I was planning on cutting a hole out of the acrylic hood and mounting it on top. Is this difficult? Is it even possible?

accryl,ic cuts with normal woodworking tools, u could use a jig saw or hole saw to do the job
