Adding base rock to cured rock will it cause a cycle?

I was wondering if I added base rock to cured rock will it cause another cycle?

The base rock is dead right? Dry rock...
Dry rock will have no die off so there should be no reason for a cycle to happen.

That's what I thought but I wanted to be so sooo sooooo sure before I did anything.
