Hello everyone, I have a 55G saltwater tank, with about 50ish lbs of LR. I was thinking about adding another big piece (for decoration mostly) but I was wondering if the existing Nitrates can take care of any ammonia spike that the new live rock would possibly give. Or if it's absolutely crucial to cycle/cure it in a seperate tote before adding? I know many, including myself, do not wish to pose any threat to their livestock, but was mostly wondering if this is one of those few exceptions where it can go straight into the tank. Thanks

Or should I just say screw it and find a nice porous dry rock somewhere and sanitise it...

Just make sure that its fully cured, if its not cured, you will see a fluxuation in your nutrient levels
