Algae? that won't scrape off that easily

I have a tank with your typical green/brown algae growing on the walls. This alge come off very easily with my mag float scrapper.

However, there are area of dark green/brown clusters of circles on the walls that will not scrub off with the mag float. Can anyone tall me what this is? Again, they are small circles that are usually in clusters. I can't tell yet if my snail will eat them.

Sounds like green coralline. Your snails probably won't mess with it.

You'll need to get a scraper. Something like these.
