just a quick question, no lfs around me has a saltwater alkalinity testy kit, nut they do have the freshwater kit. is this the same, and can it be used to test saltwater accurately?

Unless it specifically says on the test kit is can be used in SW, I wouldn't trust it.

FYI, most of the test kits simply use ethyl alcohol as the titrant so it doesn't matter if it is FW or SW. But again, I wouldn't trust its readings if it doesn't specifically say on the label it can be used in FW.

You can actually go to eBay and buy any one of the salifert test kits that you need. The only down side is shipping, but sometimes they are even cheaper including the shipping.
