Wow dude y didn't u screw the powerboard on the inside of the cabinet or on the outside with a drip loop? ? Things like this prevent things like that from happening
 
I feel for you man, I had the same thing happen to me a little bit back. I had drip loops ect, have no clue how it happened. Goes to show you can't be too careful..

Mine wasn't caught as quick.. When found it had 4ft flames.. Nothing was damaged somehow except for the strip and some equipment.

Lost my heater, powerhead, skimmer, and hob.. Could've lost my house though.. Luckily I was home when it happened, don't want to think about if I hadn't..
