am i supposed to mix up the sand

i have a 20 gallon and was wondering if i need to stir up the sand to oxygenate the sand

what kind of clean up crew do you have? because if you have sand sifting satrfish, crabs, snails, ect. that scavenge for things, they do a good enough job of stiring it up.

Do you have a DSB(4-6inches)? If you do than stirring it will stop the beneficial denitrification process of the DSB

thats what i thought. thank you rmpd109. i have about 2-3 inches in a 20 gal
