anemone suicide in filter

i lost one anemone up the powerhead of my filter. All is clean and nothing died (except the anemone) what steps shall i take before getting another one. will mesh over the inlet reduce filter capability.

Not really, I've heard of using nylon stocking material for ph inlets. That may help. I had to rig my aquaclear ph inlet with foam.
