Do Anemones need a certain type of light?? or can i buy one for my clowns to host with a stock light?? i am planning on coral later on, but I am curiouse if it is possible to have an anemone w/o a special light

It isn't practical nor advisable unless you have at least 3-5wpg of PC light. MH preferred. Your tank should be running for 9 months to a year before getting one. You're better off getting corals well before anemones.

i had bought what they call a atlantic anenome about twoo months after my tank was set up andwith a stock light and it has done fine found out late though that this type of anenome kills fish i plan on getting ride of it in a while but my anenome has thrived but it was only 10 bucks so i took a stab and it paid off but i will be getting a mh light asap
