Another lighting question

Sorry for this repetitive question, do most reef tank keepers run their 03 lights for 12 hours & their daylights for about 9 to 10 hours? Also, do you lessen the overall amount of hours in the fall & winter or do you leave it @ 12 (03) & 10 (daylights)?

Running the actinics for a longer period is a matter of personal perference. AFAIK, there has been no proof that fish or corals benefit from this. I run my actinics and 10k's for 12 hrs per day. Lots of folks like the dusk/dawn effect you get by running the actinics longer.

I run my actinics 12 hours the MH is on 9.5 hours, this is all year round.
