Anyone uses Aqua Medic Trap Pest?

I am thinking of getting this to catch the mantis, pistols, crabs in my tank. Anyone uses this gadget before and is it any good? It is a bit expensive that's the reason why I ask.

A neat idea and design. It has got little plastic curtains which allow critters to get in but unable to get out off. I hear this clicking at night and am worry that the mantis will break my 10mm glass that would be a disaster. Better safe then sorry.

Can you just use a plastic coke bottle. Cut it where it starts to slope (near the top 1/4 of the bottle). Cut the cap area, try to guess the size of the critter. Turn the lid part around and stick it down, facing the bottom. Attach it and drop the food in there. They should be able to get in, but not back out.
