Aragonite Sand... Caribsea, Yardright, Old Castle, Southdown

I have looked in home depots everwhere. I stopped at four home depots today and couldn't find anything. At my local home depot I asked them to look up the number but they could not find it.

Here is the info I have:
Model Number 420100,
SKU# 578-819 and
UPC Code 0-90604-20100-2

These numbers do not even come up in their system and only quickcrete is their main vendor for sands, etc.

So where can I get some of this stuff?!? I don't want to shell out 20 bucks for 30 lbs of 'sand'. I'm located in central texas, about an hour and a half from abilene.

I just went to home depots by me looking for tropical play sand. I found something called white play sand. I took home a sample and I am going to give it the vinegar test. If it is ok then I will buy it. Then I will let you know the brand and other info. It was only $3.99 for a 50 lb bag.

I have read in many places that you have to watch to make sure it is not made with silica which feeds nuisance algea an can possibly cut sand stirring fish.

You should read Rob Toonen's article on Silica Sand from 1999 and and the August 2000 update at the bottom.
