Are VHO's and NO the same Diameter?

Just wondering. I have read in many places now that VHO ballasts can run NO and I was wondering if I need an adpter or anything.

The endcaps will be different. Teh VHO bulbs on my tanks are larger in diamater than the NO florecent bulbs in my celing fixture at work. The diamater of florecent tubes is usually marked on the tube itself by a T-## scale. VHO bulbs are almost allways T-12 and most normal florecent bulbs are T-8. The smaller the # the smaller the diamater of the tube.

URi makes NO bulbs the same diameter as VHO. I use these on my fowlr tank. But I do not use a vho ballest to run them I have a NO strip light for them.
