I was at Home Depot today and they had children's play sand but no where on the bag did it say what the sand was made of. So what does argonite look like? Whitish "soft" sand with small particles?

Want to make sure I get the right stuff.

Was it Yardright, Southdown or Oldcastle "Tropical Play Sand"? The other way to tell is the vinegar test. If the vinegar foams when you apply it to the sand then it is argonite.

Don't remember what it was called but I'll pick some up tomorrow and try the vinegar test...worst case it ends up in my son's sandbox :)

Thanks for the help.

silica sand is usually $3 for a 50lb bag, while argonite sand i more like $10 a 50lb bag. Otherwise Southdown & Oldcastle are two likely brands of argonite play sand.
