Astrea snails

Today i picked up three new snails from the lfs i had them pic them out .When i got them home i noticed all of them seem to have something growing on them. That seems to be alive and move once in awhile. Any idea what it might be?

Thanks in advance Dewey

Barnacles are common hitchikers on snails.

Banacles are harmless filterfeeders.

My astreas came to me covered in algae, some even had 1+ inch stalks of Acetabularia on them, but unless its something hard like a barnacle they will gang up and clean eachother shells eventually.
