Astrea snails Are they sand sifters or algae cleaners?

Are they sand sifters or algae cleaners? I got some for my puffer tank but he ate them before they really did anything I'm looking for sand sifters but my lfs didn't have nessarius snails.

Consider a diamond or bullet goby. Astreas are never on the sand bed. Besides, your puffer will eat the nassarius too. Any snail depending on relative sizes.

Ok I'll check them out thanks. I don't mind him eating the snails I'm trying to go with a edible Cuc. Is a diamond watchman goby the same as the one you mentioned?

Yep. Same thing. The name is misleading as "watchman" makes one think it'll hook up with and watch for a pistol shrimp. It won't.
