what would happen if i attatched a frag of xenia onto a snail or hermits shell? could it live as a passenger on the shell?

Yes it would do ok as long as the hermit or snail didnt cut it off when moving about the rocks.

we attached a hairy mushroom, to my huge fighting conch snail. it stayed for about a month or so, then he dug himself into the sand a bit to far for the mushroom, so the mushroom detached itself. it was super cute though, like "larry" (my conch) had a pretty bow on his shell! ha ha!
good luck,
mermaid
