Auto Feeder

So I am away at college (not that far but far enough to not feed my fish) and right now a family member is feeding my freshwater fish, I am getting rid of them and getting SW fish this weekend. My question is, what are your guys view on auto feeders? I am worried that my family will over/under feed my fish and kill my fish or cause caos in my take with all my levels. Thoughts????

I have a 55 gal FOWLR tank
close to 80lbs of sand
2 cir fans
150 seaclone protein skimmer

I would rather have someone feed them myself. If you need you have time to teach someone and you can also divide the food up in baggies for each day and label them

As soon as I typed this I thought about doing that Baggie idea

I want out of town last week and used a week long pill container for my dog/house sitter to use. Seemed to work great.
