Is it ok to add base rock at any time. I dont want to cause a cycle. What is some good base rock to add. Thanks.

Adding base rock is okay at anytime, die off from Live Rock causes mini-cycles.

As long as it's dry base rock, not formerly wet 'live' rock with dead crud all over it.
