Base Rock to Live Rock

Hey, how long does it take for dead base rock to turn into live rock? Can I add anything to the tank to help the process along?

How long it takes is variable. Depends on several factors and I don't think there's really a measured time. You could plant pieces of live rock in between the base rock. A top layer of live sand helps too. Eventually it will grow over the base rock. Don't worry about how long it will take. Just make sure there's plenty of oxygenation and the bio is established and stable as you populate the tank.
