Okay, I would love to have a sand sifting star, but my tank is too small (45g). My sand in my DSB usually looks like crap, and I suspect things aren't getting moved to places in the sand where they can get converted to nitrogen. What are other good options for keeping my sand clean and facilitating that final beautiful leg of the cycle? TIA

well i have alot of snails that actually bury themselves into the sand looking for food and sitr the bed for me

Some nassarius snails will help keep any extra food cleaned up as well as turning the top layer of your sand bed. Also, there are some sand sifting gobies that will help as well if you have room for one. The twinspot and bullet gobies are supposed to be good at working the sandbed.
