Has anyone ever used one. I see they run around $30. I have the same problem as some other posters here my siphon isn't strong enough to barley and I mean barley pull the sand up the tube. Was just wondering if the battery powered ones were any better thanks

waist of money just go the next size bigger hose your siphon power should get stronger
I love the 1 inch I can fill 5g pail less than 2 minutes

Total waste of money, used them on fresh water set ups years ago, lucky if they lasted a month, and I'm sure they are made even cheaper now, JUMK

You really shouldnt be disturbing the sandbed if this is saltwater. Your powerheads should be enough flow to suspend anything that falls and lies on the sand. Mucking with the sandbed can release toxins and other nasties into the water which can be a bad thing.
