I am confused about using GAC (granular activated carbon) with the Berlin filter. If you don't have a mechanical filter, where do you put it? Does it somehow go into a skimmer? Like I said, I am confused....so help me!

You can place GAC in a nylon bag in an area of good waterflow in your sump.

Good Idea

That is a good idea, however, I do not have a sump...I am just putting this tank together so do you think I should add a sump to it?

There are many reasons why a sump is beneficial to even a small system, but it is a choice you will have to make, it would certainly facilitate the use of GAC, but that can also be accoplished via a HOB filter.
