Whats the best way to change the aquascape without stressing out the fish/inverts??

I was thinking of draining the water down to 1/2 way so it would be easier to catch and transfer the fish into a holding tank/5g tub for a day till i redo the aquascape. Good?? bad?? thoughts??

Everytime I changed mine I just moved it around by putting the rock into a bucket of saltwater. Moving fish around stresses them out as much as changing the layout of the tank IMO. This does make a good time for a large water change though, so I'd go with your plan minus moving the inverts. GL catching them all.

Thanks for the tip. I guess it would be better off taking the rock out and setting it/placing it on a cardboard top/counter top to play with the aquascape instead of messing with it in the tank right??

how long can the rock stay out without any harm to the biofilter on it??
