Best way to rid your tank of brown algae?

i leave my lights on for 8 1/2 hours, my tank finished cycling about 2 weeks ago..this diatom is covering everything especially my sand

It should pass in time.... Give it a couple weeks this is a natural stage in the tank maturing.

Hm I thought I already replied to this.. guess I posted in the wrong thread lol.. anyway, inrease the waterflow over any brown areas and they will clear up in a few days.
