Bin Liner round QT tank...

I'm trying to make my QT tank darker at the back and sides, and it looks like sticking a black bin liner onto the outsides would be perfect.

But, as we all know, bin liners smell really bad, not sure what the reason for that is - will having bin liners stuck on the outside of my QT tank be ok, or will some toxins get in the tank or something?

That smell surely comes from chemicals so I wouldn't use them.. I mean, it's not as if bin bags need to be good enough to eat out of

See if your LFS has some plain black backing.. it's not gonna cost much and you won't have to worry about chemicals or ink if you cut up magazines.
