Being unfamiliar with bio pellets other than they can reduce nitrates, CAN I PUT BIO-PELLETS IN A SOCK AND EXPECT THEM TO HELP WITH NITRATES? Or, do I need a reactor. I currently put carbon in a sock and my overflow drain runs through them before the "blue and white filter media" in my wet/dry filter. I'm hoping the wet/dry bio- balls aren't the NITRATE problem. TANK IS FOWLR, DEEP SAND BED, 2 MP40s, and 8 fish in a 90 gallon. I notices my nitrates went up when I added the MP40s. It's been 3 weeks. ANY help is great! NITRATES ARE STAYING AT 20ppm.
