Has anyone ever had a black form of algae grow in their tank?
I am wondering if this is something I need to worry about.

I also have been noticing that since I have been using a ca reactor my coralline algae has gone from pink and purples to more dark purples and even maroon red.
Could it be possible that my media in the reactor is too old?
Or am I just now seeing my tank mature?

Is the black stuff growing on your corals or elsewhere?

I'm glad it's working out. Did it get covered with coralline?

Actually it is almost completely covered. It is different though. Anything lower away from the MH has more coralline than the pvc that is closer to the MH's. I do need to admit that the coraline algae seemed to grow a lot faster with the 2 part dosing than with the ca reactor. On the ca reactor though I am still trying to adjust it for my tank.

I guess the coralline like the lower light. It could alsio be that it likes lower current then at the higher levels.

I find it grows on plastic a heck of a lot faster then rock....
