Someone mentioned that a blue chin trigger is reef safe that seems to be pretty hard to believe. So my question is...Is it reef safe and lets say if it is wouldn't a trigger just go after any shrimp/crab/lobsters in the tank?

IMO, no trigger is reef safe, however, I have read about people keeping clown triggers in reef tanks, they said the trick was to get a juvenile and feed it heavily.

Yes a trigger is gonna go after any crusteceans in the tank as well as small fish. Another problem with triggers is their scavaging behavior, they will blow through the sand looking for anything they can eat, if you use a DSB for your reef, they will decimate the DSB in short order.
