Blue jaw trigger

I was thinking about getting a blue jaw trigger fish, are they reef safe, I have a cleaner shrimp and I don't want him to become lunch

He will eat the shrimp and most any invertebrate. While he is probably one of the safest, any trigger should be added to a reef with caution.

Every fish is different so no guarantees, but I have a pretty decent size male blue jaw who's great in my reef and hasn't touched my cleaner shrimp. The shrimp was already in the tank and he's rather large. Trigger doesn't even look at him. (So far anyway). He's never touched corals and is great with even my smaller fish. The only issue I have is my fox face likes to chase him around. Stressed him out the first few days but he is better now. In my tank, he's a great addition. But again, no guarantees on anything in reefing. Here's when I first got him.
